If you want a good caregiver — ask correct questions.

If you’re not a professional recruiter and you don’t have everyday practice interviewing people, it’s a good idea to prepare questions for your meeting with a potential caregiver.

Here are some things to ask apart from obvious (name, address, contact details):

1. If the circumstances will require, will you be willing to adjust your schedule?
2. What was your last job and what was the reason for termination? May I contact your previous employer for references?
3. Why do you work as a caregiver? What do you enjoy and what do you not like about this job?
4. What was the most difficult situation in your career and how did you manage it?

These questions are supposed to give you a better understanding of a person in front of you. It’s best to ask more that regret that you didn’t afterwards.
